All Oakland students are expected to be respectful, responsible, & safe and follow the Oakland Essential 12. 

When students make great behavior choices in the classroom, they are verbally praised and are helped to see how that great choice reflects one of the Oakland Essential 12 and builds our classroom community.  Students who continually make outstanding behavior choices are recognized with a Wise Owl Positive Office Referral.

When students make poor behavior choices, we first give them visual and verbal reminders of our behavior expectations. 

When students continue to make poor behavior choices after those reminders, logical consequences occur.  The consequences may include such things as a time out or loss of a privilege.  

Should a student's behavior be severe enough to warrant an Office Discipline Referral, that parents will be contacted by an administrator.

Our class will also work together to earn whole class "Mystery Rewards!"  Students will work together to earn letters that spell out a special reward for the class.  Letters will be awarded when the entire class is demonstrating respectful, responsible and safe behaviors.  Letters will also be awarded when the class receives a compliment on their behavior.  In previous years, Mystery Rewards have included Pajama Day, Extra Recess, and even a Snowball Fight!
