Week Three

Greetings,

Week three has been so fun! Students are building friendships and doing well being Huskie Heroes. We celebrated everyone being an artist for Dot Day! Students loved the story and they loved creating artwork with one simple dot. 

Recap of the Week

We’ve been talking about our families and things that we do with our families. In math, we continue to work on counting and comparing numbers. We are using words like fewer, more, less, and greater. We are also learning about avoiding germs and washing hands. 

Homework 

I sent home a homework page with a frame on it. Students can add a photo of their family or draw their family in the frame. Please fill out the sheet and send it back to school in your child’s BEE folder. We will be sharing this in class next week.

Week Two

Greetings,

Week two is going well! Students continue to get excited to earn Puppy Paws for being Huskie Heroes. We also learned about being bucketfillers. The story tells us that each person and animal has an invisible bucket. We want to do kind and positive things to fill other’s buckets as well as our own. If we do unkind things, we empty other’s buckets. We learned a fun bucketfilling chant today that your child can share with you. 

Recap of the Week

We officially started our math curriculum this week. Students have been doing a great job with counting and identifying numbers. In language arts, we started our Wonder’s journal. Students have been very creative in their drawings. A highlight of the week was using stickers to make our names. The kids love using stickers. We also had fun with the sand and rice sensory bins. 

Homework 

I sent home a note about the Chrysanthemum book that we will read in class. Please fill out the back of the sheet and send it back to school in your child’s BEE folder.

Week One

Each Thursday afternoon, I will send an email in this format that includes the recap of the week, homework, and upcoming things. You will also find that your student earned one or more puppy paws today. They LOVE earning the puppy paws. They can earn them from any adult in the school when they are being respectful. I try to write on the back of the paw how they earned it. Please check your child’s folder for the paws today. 

Recap of the Week

The past two days have been so much fun! I have really enjoyed getting to know your child more. Yesterday, we spent time learning the rules and routines of school. We spent some extra time playing and getting to know our friends. 

Today, we read all about Pete the Cat and even went on a scavenger hunt around our school that Pete left us. The kids were so excited!

Homework 

If your child hasn’t already, please complete and return the color crayon that was in their BEE folder at Entrance Conferences. The kids love seeing their crayons hanging on our classroom door.
