Digital Citizenship

Digital citizenship is about teaching young people how to act responsibly online. In today's digital age, it's important for students to learn the basics about digital etiquette and online safety. D65 uses K-12 digital citizenship curriculum from Common Sense Media. Below are some of the tools and games that Common Sense Media offers through their Digital Passport program to help students practice digital citizenship skills.

Students will learn how to create memorable and secure passwords.

Students will experience a cellphone multitasking simulation and reflect on the benefits of being singularly focused.

Students will evaluate online messages and consider what information could be shared and what should be private.

Students respond to cyberbullying situations.

Students practice using effective keywords for an online search.

Students learn about copyright, credit, and plagiarism.
