Dear Diamond Lake Families,
We have completed our first full week of school, and we are off to a great start! Our students have been working hard in their classrooms and are settling into our routines and schedules. The hallways are buzzing with excitement, and it is wonderful to see the learning and energy happening in every classroom.
This week, we practiced our bus evacuation drill on Tuesday. Our bus drivers were here to support our students and teach important bus safety expectations. It was a great opportunity for students to practice what to do in an emergency and reinforce safe habits while riding the bus.
On Monday morning, we will be having a fire drill with the Countryside Fire Department. We spent time practicing this week so our students and staff are prepared. Teachers have reviewed expectations with students, including how to safely exit the building and where to go once outside. I know we will do a great job on Monday and show the fire department how prepared our DLS students and staff are!
What a great first week of practicing, learning, and building routines together!
Keep shining and #SparkleOn,
Mrs. Sunny Morley
Principal, Diamond Lake School
Students are enjoying lunch with friends and following our school expectations.
Be Safe. Be Respectful. Be Responsible.
First Student drivers came to school on Tuesday to practice bus evacuations and review bus safety.
Students in class utilize carpet time to learn together.
This week, we had the opportunity to honor Jose Torres at our Board meeting! He is such an important part of the Diamond Lake team and is always willing to jump in wherever he is needed—from keeping our building looking its best to moving furniture and helping with all of the unexpected jobs that come up throughout the day.
Jose is also a constant, welcoming presence in our lunchrooms, helping make sure our students are cared for and supported. And, of course, he is always just a quick call on the walkie away when we need him!
We are so lucky to have Jose Torres as a member of our Diamond Lake family. Thank you, Jose, for all you do for our students, staff, and school!
