Ukraine Holodomor

We recommend you begin with the Basic Facts About the Holodomor from the Holodomor Research and Education Consortium (HREC), at the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies, University of Alberta. Then move on to Teaching Materials, where you will find a Timeline, a background essay, and an analysis by Raphael Lemkin (who originated the word "genocide") of the ways in which the Holodomor fits the description of genocide.

You can take a 3-D tour at the Holodomor Museum (in Ukraine).

Read and watch survivor stories.

The United States has a National Holodomor Memorial in Washington, DC, dedicated on the 100th anniversary in 2015. See the National Park Service page on the memorial and the designer's page on the memorial.
