Google and Student accounts

Students are issued Google accounts to log into their Chrome profile on their school issued Chromebooks. These accounts also allow students to log into other programs using their Google account. (Google Single Sign On) With this account students also have access to email, calendar and so much more.

Google accounts - Student accounts end with @students.discoveryhsf.org. Students have been encouraged to create unique passwords. Teachers of lower grade students in K-2 created their student's passwords which make logging in at school so much easier. Watch this helpful you tube video about creating passwords. If you need a password reset - for K-3 students - check with their teacher first. For all other students - complete the password reset request form here.

Chromebooks are devices that allow students to have access to all of the programs we are using at Discovery Schools. Students log in with their google account (@students.discoveryhsf.org) which is the same as logging into their chrome profile. This account is monitored as best we can and all students are expected to follow our acceptable use policy and account security set up by our technology department.

Chrome profile - A chrome profile is a great tool and automatically generated when a child logs into their Chromebook. The profile will save passwords, bookmarks, and history and follow the student on whatever device they use to access their profile. You can create a Chrome profile on any computer or device using the Chrome browser app. This means if your chromebook is broken or at school, you can create your profile on a computer at home and have access to all of your files and passwords. Be sure not to save your chrome profile on any public or borrowed computers.

You may want to click on Chromebooks and watch the getting started video to learn more about your Chromebook.
