4B - Monitoring Worker Performance - Module will review built-in worker performance monitoring tools and discuss the common use cases, as well as the advantages and limitations of each tool.

4C - Managing Project Data in CommCare - Module will cover exporting data, and inspecting and cleaning data in CommCare HQ; as well as managing data access permissions.

Practice

Here are some data management practice scenarios in the form of requests from program staff using CommCare. Think through what is/is not possible in each instance and if there are any workarounds to accomplish the desired end-state:

• In the registration form we want to add some more options to the question about occupation and remove a couple - will this be a problem? We have data from the people that we already surveyed. How can we get all of the previously submitted forms to have this value?
• Hi, I’m the new data analyst. I was going through the CommCare Data and noticed that most of it does not use our standard coding which just uses numbers. It’s really difficult for us to manage with the existing data. Could we talk about updating how the data is coded?
• We have been using the case export to make a monitoring dashboard. We want to standardize how the case properties appear and use camel case instead of the underscores. Can you update the app to do that?
• We found a couple of errors in how the occupation is coded so we went ahead and fixed the spelling, and now we don’t understand why the data is so confusing. Can you fix it ?
