HOMEWORK, MAKE-UP WORK, AND GRADING

Students will seldom have homework in FCS, but if a project or report is assigned, it needs to be completed on time.  Late work will be graded accordingly.

We will try to fit in as many food labs as time and budget allows.  If a student misses a food lab, they are required to make up the lab at home and cleanup their dishes and kitchen.  A note from home will count as a grade.  Students will have one week to complete the lab and bring in the note.

Each food lab counts as two grades; one for basic cooking procedures and finished product and the other for unit cleanup.  Food labs are a group effort and promote sharing duties and working together.  Attendance is greatly appreciated.  Students are also required to at least taste all food prepared in lab, unless a note from a parent states allergies, religious reasons, or vegetarian status.

Any missed sewing labs and other classroom work, can be made up during noon hours.  Please contact me if you need to make up a sewing lab and we will schedule a day.  Sewing projects are to be completed in the classroom.  A point system is used for grading sewing projects.
