We are Group #5 from Ms. Wells' Grade 8 classroom!
Hey! I'm Alex and I'm 13 years old. I'm basically obsessed with gaming and coding - I spend most of my free time either playing Minecraft or trying to build my own games in Python. I use ChatGPT whenever I'm stuck on a coding problem or need ideas for new game features. I'm also a huge pizza fanatic (pepperoni is the best), and I love solving puzzles. My friends think I'm weird because I actually enjoy math class, but numbers just make sense to me. I think AI could really help students who struggle with subjects, but I also worry about people using it to cheat on everything.
Hi everyone! I'm Maya, I'm 14, and I'm probably the biggest bookworm you'll ever meet. I've already read over 200 books this year (yes, I keep a list!), and I'm the captain of our school's debate team. I love baking cookies when I'm stressed about tests, and my friends always know they can count on me for help with English essays. I started using Grammarly last year because even though I love writing, I sometimes make silly grammar mistakes when I'm rushing. I think AI can be really helpful for writing, but I'm worried that some students might use it to write entire essays for them, which kind of defeats the purpose of learning.
What's up! I'm Jordan, 13 years old, and I'm all about creative stuff. I love making art, whether it's drawing, painting, or creating digital designs on my tablet. I also play guitar, drums, piano, and I'm learning the ukulele because why not? When I'm not making music or art, you can find me skateboarding around town or working on murals for local businesses. I think AI should help artists get inspired, not replace the personal stories and emotions that make art special. That's why I wanted to help create these rules.
