Mr. A's training room


We complete many jobs for Mr. A the Athletic trainer at Timber Creek. Some jobs include filling the water jugs and ice buckets, stock and assemble heel pads , take inventory and restock first aid kits, clean table equipment, and much more.

water jugs

Steps:

  • In the room with the ice machine, find the water jugs that are big and orange on the wire shelving.

  • Take all the water jugs needed for today's schedule located on the table across from Mr. A.’s desk.

  • With the large ice scoop on the top of the ice machine, place 5 full scoops of ice into each water jug.

  • Using the red hose connected to the spigot and cold water, fill each water jug to the line with the number eight.

  • Place the lid tightly on the water jugs and carefully push the water jug into the entrance hallway where you will find activities along the walls.

  • Place each jug to its matching sport.

ice buckets/Injury Ice

Ice Bucket Steps:

  • Find the blue and white small ice buckets on the bottom wire shelving.

  • Each activity gets an ice bucket which is labeled.

  • Fill with ice only.

  • And place it in an Ice bucket with the correct activity.

  • Place the ice bucket on top of the First Aid Kit which is on top of the water jugs.


Injury Ice Steps:

  • Find the injury ice bucket inside the bathtub on the left of the ice machine.

  • Fill the large orange ice bucket labeled injury ice with ice (leave enough room for the small scoop and the roll of ice bags).

  • Secure the white lid.

  • Push the injury ice to Mr. A’s cart across from his desk and then lift and place it onto the cart. (sometimes it might take two people)

heel pads

Steps:

  • Cover the exam table that you will be working on with paper towels, to keep the table clean while working. Paper towels can be located on the shelves with the orange first aid kits.

  • Grab one tongue depressor per person on this task. They can be found on the medical supply table close to the wall of pain.

  • The jug of petroleum vaseline is located inside the medical supply table, bottom shelf.

  • Mr. A.'s heel pads box is located on the top shelf next to the exam table under the wall of pain.

  • Carefully remove a row of heel pads from the bottom of the box. Group in piles of two.

  • Using tongue depressor, scoop a dime size of the petroleum vaseline and carefully place it on one square. Use a 2nd square to cover the First. Place the heel pad into Mr. A.’s heel pads box.

  • Repeat the process until the heel box is full.

  • Mr. A. likes three full rows of heel pads.

first aid kits

Steps:

  • First, check Mr. A.’s list of activities for today.

  • Then we go to the shelves for the orange rectangle boxes that are the first aid kits.

  • Remove the first aid kits for today’s activities.

  • Within the first aid kit check each tray for any supplies that are missing.

  • Consult the checklist for the first aid kit contents and add supplies as needed.

  • Consult Mr. A. or Ms. French if supplies are not available, they have the key to the locked overstock closet.

  • Once the First Aid kits have been restocked, place the First aid kits on top of the orange water jugs under the correct activity label.


clean table and equipment

Steps:

  • Get the spray bottle on the cart next to Mr. A.’s desk.

  • Find the small rag in the closet to the left under the sink area in the back of the room.

  • When cleaning tables/ equipment we also include the arm rest for every chair, doorknobs, handles on the closet on the back of the room, 2 stools, Mr. A.’s phone on his desk and his desktop.

  • Grab the spray bottle with the pink fluid and a small towel, proceed to gently spray the table and wipe them down on one side of the room and work your way around the room, be sure to include cabinet handles, door knobs, exercise equipment, chair arm rests, and stools.


hydrocollator

Steps:

  • Grab the Bubble Gum Bucket on the bottom shelf of the cart with the Muscle stimulation machine.

  • The hydrocollator is located in the back of the room next to the cabinet counters.

  • Be very careful touching the hydrocollator because it is “VERY HOT!”.

  • Check the water level of the hydrocollator, if the water is lower than the water line above the hot towels then you must add water.

  • Once you get the bubblegum bucket off the cart, fill it with water in the back sink and carefully lift the hydrocollator lid. Be careful of the steam. And gently add the water.

  • Keep adding water until it is on the water line.

laundry for mr. A.

Steps:

  • Retrieve a basket of dirty laundry next to the Hydrocollator and the container of laundry soap under the first aid kits.

  • Take the basket and soap across the hall to the laundry room (don’t forget to take the key to enter the laundry room).

  • Empty the laundry basket into the washing machine closest to the laundry room door.

  • Carefully measure the soap to the correct level and pour it into the compartment for soap that pulls out from the top back inside the machine, close the compartment and select the correct temperature and water level.

  • Press and hold the start button located on the top far right.

  • Put the time for the wash on the board in G106 to remind us to switch the wet laundry into the drier.

  • Put the time for the drier on the board in G106 to retrieve our clean and dry laundry.

  • Get Mr. A. 's clean basket and remove laundry from the drier and bring it to Mr. A.’s Office where we will fold it and put it away in the cabinet next to the Hydrocollator.
