We focus on employability skills.
You can find our students:
-Receiving their daily work schedule: Custodial job, Student Store job, off-campus rotation at one of our worksites, vending machine stocking rotation, support with shopping, customer service training, handling money/deposits for the store, hands-on learning material to learn personal information, build resumes, earn food handler cards, and many other things.
Students and staff working on campus for Oscar Burger Day. Every first Friday we serve the students and staff of LVA a burger every 8 seconds within an hour!
Job Skills Training/Independent Skills
PACE is a unique program for individuals with disabilities who have successfully completed an adjusted high school course of study and have a goal of seeking community employment. The main goal of the PACE program is to place young adults with disabilities into the competitive workforce. This program provides functional academic, employability, daily living, and social skills training, on and off campus environments. Trainees are placed in community employment settings as soon as they are able to demonstrate appropriate and competent skills in each of the emphasis areas. When not off campus, students spend time practicing independent living skills. Skills focus on health, financial literacy, obtaining jobs, transportation and more!
