AIM: Discuss how to design/modify/control the interaction of proteins with interfaces.
FORMAT: It is a 2-day school with lectures of 45 mins (30 mins lecture + 15 mins discussion) where experts in the field will show what is possible to do in terms of proteins (purification, synthesis, labelling), surfaces (control of morphology, roughness, charge, hydrophobicity, etc.) and characterization of the interactions between proteins and interfaces and how to control them.
TARGET AUDIENCE: The school is meant for PhD students, postdocs as well as established researchers interested in learning more on the topic in general, and in finding out what is already available/possible in Mainz in particular.
POSTER PRESENTATIONS: In the poster sessions (regular poster format: A0) the participants will have a chance to present and discuss their own work. A "best poster" prize will be awarded at the end of the school.
REGISTRATION: Registration is free, but mandatory. The deadline is 10.11.2018.
By registering you will be provided with a name tag and you will also help in planning for the appropriate amount of food and poster boards. Registration is possible by simply filling the form at https://goo.gl/forms/z5jEqf749DRXcTKq2 or by email to: gonella@mpip-mainz.mpg.de with subject "Proteins @ Interfaces School". In the email body please provide the following information: last name, first name, academic status (PhD student, postdoc, etc.); if presenting a poster: authors and title; list of any food allergies or dietary restrictions.
SUPPORT: Partial support by MPGC is acknowledged.
