You can use the invitation below to invite your guests.
Please share the list of people that you plan to invite with Ben to make sure we have an accurate head count with no duplicates.
You can right-click on the image and select "Save Image" to download this file.
Each team will have 5 minutes to present.
You will not be using PowerPoint or any other visuals. This will just be the amazing you!
Start with a very brief introduction of who you are and what you do (no more than 1 minute!).
Then give us a taste of what you discovered. Here are the key things to address in your presentation to make it interesting and engaging:
Which finding(s) encouraged you the most?
What was the freshest insight, most surprising discovery, and biggest “ah-ha” in your findings?
What about your findings challenged or stretched your assumptions? (This one is typically the most interesting for the audience.)
What did you learn from one of your “improve” findings?
What is one or two things you will do differently because of what you’ve discovered?
Here are a few tips to help you prepare:
Select one person to speak on behalf of your team.
You will have only 5 minutes. You can say a lot in 5 minutes.
Remember, spend no more than 1 minute telling us about who you are and what you do. Most people in the room will already know this and will be happy to follow up with you if they are really interested in what you've learned in your evaluation.
Give us just a glimpse into the really interesting, surprising, counter-intuitive, mind-blowing findings. People can read your full report later. Leave them longing for more.
It's a good strategy to say something like, “We thought this, but now we know this.” Or, “We assumed this, but we discovered this.” Or, “We’ve always approached things this way, but what we discovered makes us rethink things.” Or, “We expected our impact to be only this, but we discovered that it is also all of this.” It’s the new discovery that’s particularly interesting for us to hear. Just like the telling of any story, a turn in the plot makes it much more intriguing for the listener.
Include some part of an “improve” finding. Remember, self-awareness (not self-aggrandizement) is very attractive.
Toward the end of your presentation, tell us one or two of your responses – something you will be doing differently as a result of what you discovered.
