Here are the steps your team needs to complete after Session 1:
Send Jessamyn a photo of your team! I wish I could be there in person, but since I can't be there I'd like to use this photo to help me put faces with names.
Complete your Intended Impacts and What We Mean descriptions by October 31
Send the exercise to your coach for feedback by tagging them in a comment in your workbook or sending an email telling them you are ready for feedback
Your coach will send you feedback within a few days
Review the feedback from your coach and revise your draft
If needed, send your draft to your coach to review again
Get your draft as close to "final" as you can before the next session
Make sure your Intended Impacts are at a high level so they represent the power of your work. Ask yourselves this question: If everything goes exactly as you hope it will, how will people be different when they leave the program?
Focus on effect rather than effort. Think about how people change as a result of what you do rather than what you do to support that change. Try putting the words "As a result of our program..." before your impact statement.
Focus on your direct impacts. Your impacts should reflect the things that you directly affect or influence in your day-to-day work.
Focus your impacts on the people your program directly touches and affects. Your impacts should be about people rather than organizations, systems, or communities.
Remember that you don't need to be achieving these impacts at this point. These are about what you intend and this evaluation will help you see how close you are to achieving them. Your impacts should be inspirational and aspirational, but not delusional.
