Trustees
The DHIN trustee board is made up of three co-conveners with over 50 years of combined experience in clinical practice, engineering, computer science, and hands-on leading and driving digital health program design, collaboration, and implementation in a few dozen countries, mainly in Africa.
The DHIN Secretariat
The DHIN Secretariat serves as the operational and technical backbone of the Network. While the Association drives member-led governance and advocacy, the Secretariat leads project execution, standards implementation, and capacity-building initiatives. It manages the Interoperability Labs, coordinates with partners and donors, and provides expert advisory support to government agencies and health programs. Acting independently but aligned with the Association’s mission, the Secretariat ensures that DHIN remains agile, impactful, and technically sound in advancing digital health interoperability across Nigeria and beyond.
The Digital Health Interoperability Network (DHIN) Association is the heart of our member-driven movement. It brings together individuals and organizations from across Nigeria, Africa, and the global health ecosystem who are committed to open standards, interoperability, and the transformation of digital health systems through collaboration and shared values. At its core, the DHIN Association is a community of practice and influence. It is governed by a Board of Trustees, supported by an Executive Council, and organized into Thematic Working Groups that drive technical thought leadership, strategic advocacy, and real-world implementation.
Membership is open to institutions and individuals aligned with DHIN’s mission and values. Voting rights are granted to members who have remained financially up to date for at least 12 consecutive months. Each member organization is entitled to one vote in elections and constitutional decisions. Through active participation in DHIN’s working groups and events, members can:
Influence Nigeria’s and Africa’s digital health standards agenda
Gain early access to interoperability testing tools and sandboxes
Contribute to national publications and global knowledge products
Collaborate on donor-funded projects and capacity-building programs
While the DHIN Association is a member-led body focused on community governance and knowledge exchange, the DHIN Secretariat operates independently as the technical and administrative arm. The Secretariat drives implementation, manages interoperability labs, executes consultancy and research projects, and delivers technical support to partners and governments. Together, both arms work to amplify DHIN’s impact and ensure sustainability.
