Welcome parents and community members!
Our school library serves over 200 students and of course, our dedicated teaching staff. We provide access to many resources, including print books, ebooks, magazines, online databases for research, and subscription websites powered through our local Downers Grove Public Library. View student resources here.
Our library program is guided by the AASL National School Library Standards and the Illinois Standards Aligned Instruction for Libraries.
Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students visit the library 2 times per week for instruction. 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students visit the library once a week for instruction. During our time together, it is my main objective to foster your child's love of reading and help them to become independent, lifelong learners. Depending on the grade, students will also learn about digital citizenship, conduct research, become better readers, and pursue their interests through different learning activities.
Wondering what to read with your child at home? Struggling to help your older student find their "just right book?" Check out our book recommendation pages for some help and inspiration!
