Dr. Dwyer’s Psychological Support Website

This site was developed to provide parents, students and teachers with information regarding counseling groups, schedules, social emotional resources, mindfulness and special education. Each resource page has a Bitmoji Classroom with links to useful videos, materials and websites. Subpages have additional resources, articles, videos and worksheets for use at home and in school. Counseling group class pages are password protected to maintain confidentiality and limit access to google classrooms and meets. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need assistance.

I currently provide psychological services to third through fifth grade students at Springhurst Elementary School. Some of my responsibilities include: individual and group counseling, initial and triennial evaluations, behavior assessment and intervention, crisis intervention, parent and teacher consultation. I have been working at Springhurst since 2006. I am New York State and Nationally Certified in School Psychology. I am also a New York State Licensed Psychologist. Some of my professional interests include: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Behavior Disorders, Anxiety, Trauma and Neuropsychological Assessment.

I enjoy working with students to help them develop effective emotional and behavioral strategies necessary to navigate the school day. I also rely heavily on my collaboration with parents and teachers in order to help our students succeed in school.

My biggest challenge this year is acclimating to remote learning and developing engaging on-line resources for our school community. I have included many topics that are of particular interest to the families I currently service.
