23-26 September 2026
The Istanbul QG Workshop brings together leading researchers at the forefront of quantum gravity and string theory, with a focus on some of the most active and challenging directions in the field.
The program will highlight recent advances in:
Swampland program and string landscape
String compactifications and moduli stabilization
AdS/CFT
String cosmology
String Field Theory
Asymptotic safety
Loop Quantum Gravity
By fostering interactions among experts from diverse areas, the conference aims to stimulate new ideas and deepen our understanding of the fundamental principles underlying quantum gravity and the laws of nature.
Set in the historic and vibrant city of Istanbul, the meeting offers a unique and inspiring environment for scientific exchange, collaboration, and the development of new research directions.

The workshop will be hosted at Boğaziçi University (South Campus), a remarkable venue overlooking the Bosphorus and uniquely positioned between the two iconic bridges connecting Europe and Asia.
Renowned for its historic architecture and breathtaking views, the campus offers an exceptional setting for scientific exchange. Surrounded by greenery and overlooking the strait, it provides a rare combination of academic excellence and natural beauty.
This unique location reflects the spirit of the workshop itself — bringing together ideas across boundaries at the meeting point of continents.
Activities
Experience Istanbul from one of its most iconic perspectives — the Bosphorus Strait, where Europe and Asia meet.
Participants will have the opportunity to join a guided boat tour along the Bosphorus, enjoying breathtaking views of the city skyline, historic palaces, and waterfront architecture.
This informal social event provides a relaxed setting to continue scientific discussions while experiencing one of the most unique geographical locations in the world.
Discover the rich cultural and historical heritage of Istanbul, a city at the crossroads of civilizations.
Optional guided tours will include some of the city’s most renowned landmarks, such as Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and the historic Sultanahmet district.
These excursions offer participants a deeper appreciation of Istanbul’s unique blend of history, culture, and architecture, complementing the scientific program of the workshop.
As part of the social program, participants are invited to attend a special evening concert featuring a wide repertoire, from classical to contemporary music.
This event aims to provide a refined and memorable experience, bringing together music and physics.
