On October 2, 2020, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) conducted a webinar entitled “International Space Cooperation and the Philippines.” The webinar’s objective was to provide its audience an understanding of (a) the mandate of the PhilSA and the Philippine Space Agenda; (b) the role of the DFA in furthering international space cooperation; and (c) the various agreements on international space cooperation. The webinar was to also serve as a consultation mechanism among the relevant stakeholders, thus enabling the agencies concerned to propose viable ways forward.

Attended by an estimated 500 participants from Philippine Foreign Service Posts globally, students, scientists, government officers, and enthusiasts, the webinar marked an important milestone in the Philippines, as it begins developing a formidable space agenda.

This e-book/compendium, to be launched on December 9, 2021, is aimed at bringing awareness on the Philippine space agenda to the general public, as well as commemorate the landmark initiative that the Department and the Philippine Space Agency was able to conduct.

This Compendium is the first publicly available book on the Philippine space agenda, available for the use of policymakers, educators, students, scientists, space enthusiasts and the public alike.
