Beta

The purpose of Beta Club is to promote scholarship, leadership, service, and good citizenship. Students are expected to maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher, good attendance, and honorable character. Students are also expected to participate in a minimum of two service hours per semester. Beta Club hosts a variety of events throughout each school year including a chilli supper, talent show, and trivia night. Students who qualify will be invited to attend the annual State Convention in Springfield, MO, where they have the opportunity to qualify for the National Convention in a location TBA each year.

Beta Club Pledge

I do solemnly declare that I shall always strive to hold fast to the principles of honesty; to endeavor constantly to maintain an admirable reputation; and to develop the foundation of character, service, and leadership in my life. I also pledge to cooperate with fellow members of The National Beta Club. I will encourage an individual responsibility to improve my school, community, state, and nation. I will defend a high standard of morality and join with my club to contribute to the improvement of our entire student body.

Meeting Information

The Dexter High School Senior Beta Club meets once per month. Meeting attendance is mandatory for all members.

Meetings are held in the DHS library. On meeting dates, students may choose to attend either a 7:45 A.M. meeting, or a 3:15 P.M. meeting.

Any member who is absent from a meeting must stop by the library to get a copy of the agenda from that meeting.

Collaboration with Hope International

Health & Resource Fair

Dexter Public Schools partnered with the Stoddard County Health Coalition to offer a "Health and Resource Fair" to Dexter Public Schools staff, junior and senior students, as well as community members. Fair attendees were able to benefit from many services, including free early detection, preventative health screenings, and other educational opportunities. DHS Senior Beta students served at the Health & Resource Fair by fetching items the vendors needed, working the registration booth, and helping the event coordinators with any other errands they needed.

DHS American Red Cross Blood Drive

The DHS Senior Beta students were a tremendous help in making the 2019 Blood Drive a success! Beta students worked the registration table, were caregivers and snack table attendants, and were also appointment runners.

DHS Trunk-or-Treat

Trunk-or-Treat night is always a favorite evening for many children in the Dexter area! This year, the DHS Senior Beta Club donated over 150 bags of Halloween candy to distribute at this spook-tacular event! Many Beta Club students participated, either with Beta Club, or with Student Council, FCCLA, or FFA.

Adopt-a-Family

Members of the DHS Senior Beta Club will help make the holidays merry and bright for one local family this Christmas. Students are currently collecting a variety of items for the family, and will wrap and deliver gifts during the last week of the semester.
