Google's support site called Teach From Home is a great resource for getting started.
Teachers are encouraged to use their DPS Google Site to post updates for parents regarding office hours and classroom structure while we are implementing online learning.
Google Classroom has been setup for all teachers district wide. Teachers are encouraged to use this platform to communicate class information with students.
As you are planning for student's accessing online learning, please keep in mind that roughly 10% of students have issues with connectivity. For these students, we have provided this resource to help them find ways to get online. If you have students that are only able to be online part of the time, please consider including activities in their Google drive that can be downloaded for offline access.
If you are working at home, you may want to contact your service provider for details on lower cost or faster Internet access. Many service providers are increasing speeds and providing discounts to educators.

Teachers each have Hovercam Document Cameras provided by DPS. Cameras have rotating heads and so can be used to record lessons that include either the teacher video or any documents that are being demonstrated. They can also be used to participate in Google Meet. The document camera includes a built in microphone. Hovercams can be used with Chromebooks as well as with Windows or Mac computers.
Infinite Campus
DPS Infinite Campus contains the official record of student contacts. Parents contact information is available for making phone connections. Teacher Messenger can be used to send whole class or individual E-mail messages.
Google Classroom
Open the classroom that goes with the class you want to connect with
Click on People and choose the Select all box (top of column of boxes)
A G-mail box will pop up allowing you to send to all.
It might be a good practice to move these e-mail to the bcc box so that students do not end up using the reply all to drive everyone nuts.
Google Meet
From Inside Google Classroom click on the following to add a meeting link to your classroom that can be re-used for live video meetings.
Settings Gear
Generate Meet Link
The meeting link will appear at the top of the classroom screen
Infinite Campus
Use this tutorial to get started. The normal use of IC is to e-mail parents, but students are in the system too and there is a check box to e-mail to them as part of the process.
Each teacher has an assigned touchscreen Chromebook. Learn how to use your Chromebook at home using this support site. New Chromebooks are being ordered to replace teacher devices as DPS realizes the existing ones are dated. The SPOT bid for ordering a personal device will be opening soon, see Technology Access for details if you are in need of an additional device at home.
