If you need a place to sign in for access, please come to the school and park as near as you can to one of our school buildings or the stadium (which has an outdoor hotspot of it's own) and attach to DPS_Internet. From DPS you can download content from your child's Google Drive to work on at home. Please note that the DeWitt District Library is also offering drive up Internet Access.
Xfinity WiFi Free For Everyone: Xfinity WiFi hotspots across the country will be available to anyone who needs them for free – including non-Xfinity Internet subscribers. For a map of Xfinity WiFi hotspots, visit www.xfinity.com/wifi. Once at a hotspot, consumers should select the “xfinitywifi” network name in the list of available hotspots, and then launch a browser.

If your family does not qualify for reduced cost programs, you may want to reach out to your cell phone provider for details on their current offers. Many providers are currently offering increased data capacity even on their lowest tier of Internet. You may find that this functionality is already available on your existing plan using the hotspot function of your mobile phone.
Families Demonstrating Need
In the spring DPS distributed several hundred Chromebooks to students in families that demonstrated need. We will continue to offer a chromebook to families with this need. Please contact our DPS Helpdesk if you are unable to provide a device for your child and we will contact you to make arrangements.
Families Wishing to Order
The model DPS is using at the moment is the HP Chromebook 14 G6 TouchScreen 8GB RAM from the statewide device purchasing REMC Contract.
Please note that SEHI (our REMC vendor) has notified us that due to a processor shortage they are not currently taking orders for Chromebooks. You may be able to locate this same or a similar Chromebook at other national vendors (Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Costco etc). We will post information here as soon as our vendor is again able to supply them again at an educational discount. We've been told it may be several months.
DPS primarily uses Chromebooks for student learning. Support tutorials for using Chromebooks can be found on Google's website. Whether using a Chromebook or other learning device students are requested to log in with their DPS Google Account to access learning resources. Students who use their DeWitt account in Chrome or on a Chromebook will have iBoss filtering and tracking turned on at home. No filtering system is infallible, but this tool will help students avoid the most blatant inappropriate content on the web. Please remind your child to log out when finished using their DPS account for student learning, as other users in the family may not want to be subject to the same restrictions. Please see our Online Learning Tools page for more information about accounts and websites that will be used for DPS home learning.
