• How do I find my assignments in the Google classroom? You can find your assignments under the classwork tab and on the Google Calendar

• How do I know when my assignments are due? Under the classwork tab, the due date is listed next to the assignment. It is also listed on the Google calendar.

• How do I find my grade in Google Classroom? Go to Classwork. On the top towards the left you’ll see “View Your Work.” Click that. From this page you will see your overall grade on the top right (IF your teacher has that setting set up). You can also scroll to different assignments and see grades for each assignment here on this page.

• Can parents access google classroom? No, but parents can sign up to receive daily or weekly progress emails including missing work, upcoming work and class activity.

• Can I use a phone, tablet or other device to access google classroom? Yes, just be sure to add all necessary apps to your device. Some of those apps would be: Google Calendar, Google Docs and Google Drive

• How is Khan Academy used in/for math and/ or used for grades?

Khan Academy will be used for multiple purposes:

1. Assessment of student learning… so yes “test grades”.

2. Classwork for step-by-step check of understanding, some may be daily grades while others will not and be used to let us, as teachers, determine understanding or misconceptions.

3. Remediation of skills that a student may lack or be struggling with that is interfering with further understanding of mathematical content.

• My computer won't let me sign into Khan Academy even though I'm signed in as myself. What do I do? Try opening up a guest browser window and sign in from there.

• How do I help my child with technology when I don't know anything about it? The parish website offers a page with documents and videos on how to go about utilizing the technology that your student will be using regularly throughout the year at https://www.desotopsb.com/page/desoto-university

• How do I contact my teacher for instructional support? Each teacher will have designated “office hours” for students and/or parents to reach out for assistance. The option is also there to email the teacher, as well. The email addresses are available online and were sent home with students at the beginning of the year. Some teachers also have Remind or Live School that they use to keep in touch with parents and use the text function for this purpose.
