Class of 2030

Today we celebrated our 5th-grade students. Throughout their time here at Prairie View, they learned a lot and created many memories! We will truly miss each and every one of them. Good luck in middle school, class of 2030!

Field Day

Our K-2 students welcomed the Stoddard K-2 classes to our school for an afternoon of fun! We enjoyed face painting, bubbles, a scavenger hunt, chalk art, and even a bounce house! All in all, it was a fun way to spend the afternoon together!

While we were having fun at PV, our 3-5 students made their way down to Stoddard for an exciting afternoon of their own! 


3-5 Swimming

Our 3-5 students enjoyed a fun afternoon swimming at Bigley Pool in Viroqua. It was a great way to help celebrate the end of our school year!


Wind Cars

5th-grade students showed off their engineering skills by putting their wind cars to the test. Some very unique and clever designs were showcased at the event! 

Congratulations to Sasha for getting her wind car to cross our entire gym, which is a school record!


K-2 Swimming

Our K-2 students enjoyed a fun afternoon swimming at Bigley Pool in Viroqua. It was a great way to help celebrate the end of our school year!


Professional provider of the year

Congratulations to our school aide, Jennifer Gullickson, for being awarded the Stoddard American Legion Post 315 - Professional Provider of the Year award! Jennifer is an integral part of our staff here at Prairie View. A big thank you to her for all she does for our school!


Minnesota Marine Museum

5th grade Art TAG students had a wonderful time exlopring the Minnesota Marine Museum in Winona. While there, they enjoyed seeing giant paper mache masks of various wildlife and spending the afternoon sketching.

Extreme Science

Prairie View students enjoyed the Extreme Science presentation performed by America's Got Talent contestant, David Hagerman! A huge thank you to both Stoddard Elementary and Mr. Hagerman for all the fun and learning! Check out a clip from his America's Got Talent audition here: AGT Audition

Spring Concert

The K-2 graders performed "The Day the Crayons Quit!", and the 3-5 graders performed "Pirates: The Musical" for our Prairie View families. Everyone did a wonderful job singing! A special thanks to Ms. Justin for all her hard work! 

Arts & Education

On April 18 the De Soto District celebrated Arts & Education Night. Our Prairie View students had both art and music exhibits on display for the community to enjoy. Thank you to Mrs. Buchner and Ms. Justin for supporting our students! 

De Soto FFA

Nine De Soto Chapter FFA members traveled to Prairie View to complete a "Food for America" program to improve agricultural literacy. Students learned key points of being safe on and around farm equipment. Students were also given the opportunity to practice getting on and off the tractor safely. In addition to farming, students learned about healthy living by exploring different fruits and vegetables. Finally, students were able to learn about dairy goats and were even able to see and pet one-week-old kids.

Kids College

The fifth-grade students attended Kids College at UWL. They attended classes about robotics and adaptive technology, archeological and flint knapping, the science of fire, the planetarium, and more! Hands-on learning in the college environment was very enriching! 

Spelling Bee

Congratulations to the 4th and 5th graders that competed in our spelling bee! They all did incredible!

Lydia was our winner and will represent PV at the district level. Sasha was our runner up.

Young Author's Night

What a wonderful night promoting literacy and writing, as well as celebrating all of our young authors!

Battle of the Books

Congratulations to the 4th and 5th grade students that participated in our Battle of the Books competition! These students read 20 books in preperation for their battle. 

On February 28th, our Prairie View team took 1st place and our Stoddard team took 2nd! The students competed against 21 teams from other regional elementary schools. Special thanks to Mrs Olson and Mrs Zink for helping them prepare!

Holiday Concert

A huge thank you to Ms. Justin for putting together such a wonderful concert. Everyone did a wonderful job spreading holiday cheer! 

Top Notch Teacher

A HUGE congratulations to our art teacher, Meg Buchner, for being awarded the title of “Top Notch Teacher” for December! Meg goes above and beyond to help our students and staff in all that she does! She is very deserving in getting this extra recognition! 

Fire prevention week

The students enjoyed a visit from the Wheatland Fire Department. Checking out the fire trucks was our favorite!

De Soto Homecoming

It's a great time to be a pirate! A week of celebration! ARRRR!
