Jump Start Adventure Park

First semester is in the books! Our students worked hard and learned lots. We celebrated all of these accomplishments by having some fun at our local jump park!

S.T.E.A.M. Night

A shout-out to our Biology and Art Clubs for hosting a S.T.E.A.M. night at Prairie View. It was a huge success! Our students enjoyed exploring all the different Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (S.T.E.A.M.) activities!

Christmas Caroling

“The best way to spread Christmas cheer

is to sing loud for all to hear”- Elf

Our kindergarten, first, and second graders looked cozy on pajama day as they spread Christmas cheer to the residents and staff at Bethel Oaks and Maple Wood Terrace.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Happy Holidays

Our TAG kids brought the festive holiday spirit with them as they decorated our school windows with snow scraping.

Veterans Day

Both Prairie View and Stoddard students joined the middle school and high school students for this year's Veteran's Day program. Our third, fourth, and fifth graders took part in singing a few songs at the direction of Ms. Justin. All in all, it was a wonderful way to celebrate all of our Veterans, both near and far.

Educator of the year

A HUGE congratulations to our fifth-grade teacher, Ev Wick, for being awarded Vernon County's Educator of the Year! Ev has been an integral part of our PV staff and community for many years! He is very deserving of getting this extra recognition!

Halloween Hoopla

We did the monster dance and played some spooktacular games to get ready for our night of trick-or-treating!

Spooktacular

There were lions and tigers and bears. Oh my!

Thank you to our Prairie View families for coming out to our Spooktacular event!

Fire prevention week

The students enjoyed visiting the Wheatland Fire Department. Checking out the gear our local firefighters have to wear and use during a fire was eye-opening! We learned that all of their equipment is much heavier than we thought!

Driftless Art award

Congratulations to Mrs Buchner for receiving one of this year's Driftless Art awards for cultivating an outstanding art department! The award included a check for $500 which Mrs. Buchner will put back into her classroom. Thank you to the Driftless Art Festival for supporting great teachers like Mrs. Buchner!

Playground Cleanup

A big thank you to the 7th graders for coming to PV to help clean up the garden and the playground! Our students now have a safe and fun place to play and explore!

A special shoutout to Mrs. Stenslien for coordinating this event!

Scarecrows

Our PV pirates from kindergarten all the way to fifth grade came together to decorate the school for fall. It was a fun afternoon of teamwork!

Homecoming Dress up Days

It's a fun week to celebrate being a De Soto Pirate!

Playground

A big thank you to our community members who donated items to our sandbox. It has become a popular place for our students to play! We would also like to give a special thank you to David Walleser and Justin Sprosty for replacing the rotten boards on the balance bars in our playground! It is one of the students' favorite spots to “hang out”. Thank you, again, to everyone who helped make our playground a fun and safe place for our students!

Driftless Art Festival

The Driftless Art Festival is held every September in Soldiers Grove. This outdoor art event features the work of professional artists, as well having student artwork on display. This year there were 10 area schools competing, with hundreds of pieces of high-quality and creative work! Our very own PV art program won $500 dollars to further the creativity of our artists!

Vernon County Fair

SHOW IT, GROW IT, SEW IT

Our students worked hard creating art for our booth celebrating this year's theme at the Vernon County Fair. Their hard work paid off! Prairie View won a blue ribbon!

A big thank you to Mrs. Buchner, Mrs. Stenslien, Mrs. Ghelf, and Mrs. Hershberger for helping to put our booth together! We won a blue ribbon!

First Day of School

Welcome back, Pirates! ARRRR!!!

We kicked off the year with a fun assembly to welcome everyone back to school! Students participated in a few fun Minute to Win It games, then rotated around the school to learn/be reminded about our school-wide expectations.

art/music Mural

There's a new mural in the art & music room at Prairie View! Mrs. Buchner and her daughter Lane painted it in June of 2023. It depicts musical instruments with art tools and how well they fit together! Stop in and check it out at open house!
