Song Writing

Course Description:

Have you always wanted to learn how to write songs? Do you want to become a better performer? This is the class for you! In this class we will explore pop song form and modern performance practices. Each student will learn how to write songs and develop a sense of their musical voice. We will explore the music of Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, The Black Keys, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Drake, and more. Vocal technique will also be a major focus of this class, and how to sound good while singing these songs. If interested please contact Ms. Jones at jones.veronica@desoto.k12.mo.us.

Prerequisite:

Anyone is welcome to sign up for this class, but I ask that you be willing to perform for others casually.
