James started in construction as a 14-year-old carpenter's helper. His first project was his own parents home. Working after school and summers until he graduated highschool, James eventually went to work as a carpenter for Fralin and Waldron, Inc. of Roanoke, VA, in 2006. These formative years taught him the dual importance of hard work and a job done right.
After learning the fundamentals of all aspects of construction, in 2013 James was promoted to Project Manager over Fralin and Waldron's New River Valley residential construction. Within two years he was entrusted with the oversight of light commercial construction and renovations for F&W at multiple sites throughout Virginia and North Carolina, specializing in the healthcare industry.
By the Summer of 2019, James and his wife Sara knew it was time to create something new and together they launched Deskins, Inc. Over the past two years they have continued to develop their portfolio and vision for the company. Crucial to their vision is the careful selection of key team members who share the same values and the successful execution of foundational projects to the full satisfaction of their customers.
