Station 1- Teacher: boxcars and Jacks game for place value
In this station I had a group of teachers working with me. In my own classroom it would be a time for small group instruction to really differentiate and meet the needs of my diverse students. In a workshop I teach the game, show ways to differentiate it and then have some time to interact and answer questions. This is the station in my own classroom that I get the most done. I am able to really meet with my students and work with them on their specific needs. It takes a lot of work and planning but is WELL WORTH IT!
Station 2- Sumdog
This is just an example of a game students can be playing. I always use Sumdog or Prodigy as an example because it is free. However, Dreambox is one that I use in my own classroom for this station.
Station 3- Partner Activity: Place Value Robots on Seesaw
Station 4: EdPuzzle
EdPuzzle is a great way to flip your classroom. You can show videos and embed questions in the videos. You can also add voice over commentary for your students. It is a great way to give them access to that information in a different format, more practice and it can be done individually or with partners. The best part is the videos are already made with questions already done! It is up to you if you want to edit or make your own, but the work is done for you.
