How can I sign up ?
By completing our CSF Fall 2025 Application. The application must be complete by Friday, November 21, 2025.
Are the meetings in person or online?
We are currently meeting in person once a month, Thursday, in Room 168 during lunch.
Are there membership dues?
There will not be a membership cost/dues for the 2025-2026 School Year. Regularly, CSF Members pay $5 for their Membership Dues per semester. The funds are used for CSF’s Annual Chapter Dues. Students that need support with the membership fee should contact our CSF Advisor, Ms. Peña, at Elva.Pena@desertsands.us.
What does this club exactly stand for?
California Scholarship Federation (CSF) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to recognize and encourage academic achievement and community service. CSF is highlighted for its community/campus involvement in 1,500 campuses throughout the state. We encourage students that are looking to maintain and/or earn support in their academics while participating in Community Service to join!
What happens if we miss a meeting?
You are able to review our virtual CSF Monthly Meeting Agenda. The agenda is updated 24 hours prior to our next monthly meeting.
Asides from community service, what else do you offer?
CSF is a statewide non-profit organization that is recognized for its 100 Years of Service. Students that complete four semesters as Active Members earn their Lifetime Membership Status, an honor and recognition. In addition to community service, creating/strengthening friendships, and academic resources; CSF provides insight on current scholarships, the opportunity to apply for the Senior CSF Scholarship, and leadership opportunities. Whether a CSF Officer and/or Active Member, students are able to host CSF Events and show their personal skill sets through our organization.
I am a Senior: Should I still apply if this will be my first year in CSF?
Yes. CSF provides resources and opportunities you might not receive otherwise, from scholarship information, leadership opportunities and being a part of the foundation of our organization at LQHS. CSF strengthens your resume for employment, scholarship, and college applications. It allows you to be involved in your community/campus, and share your own skill sets.
As a first-time joining Senior, will I qualify for the Lifetime Membership Status?
CSF Lifetime Membership requires students to have Active Member Status for four semesters. Seniors joining for the first time will not be eligible for the Lifetime Membership, however you have the opportunity to learn about new resources and opportunities. You have the ability to exhibit/strengthen your leadership skills and be a part of our CSF Legacy. CSF strengthens your resume for employment, scholarship, and college applications. It allows you to be involved in your community, campus, and share your own skill sets. CSF highlights all of our Seniors and the legacy they provide.
What if I do not meet the Fall 2024 Eligibility for Active Member Status?
If you need support in raising your grades please contact our CSF Advisor at Elva.Pena@desertsands.us. If you are unable to raise your grades before the end of the semester, you are welcome to continue attending our CSF Meetings and Events. Active Member Status allows students to continue the goal of meeting the four semester requirement to become a Lifetime Member. It is our goal to support you in being eligible for CSF to support your goals at/after LQHS.
Am I able to join other clubs?
Yes! You are encouraged to join a variety clubs. Many of our CSF Members are a part of two or more organizations and hold leadership positions. The Community Service Hours you complete with CSF can be used for other organization Community Service Requirements.
What types of scholarships can we get by joining?
CSF has an annual CSF Senior Scholarship. In addition to our CSF Scholarship we highlight scholarships at every CSF Monthly Meeting and provide the opportunity to strengthen your resume/applications for scholarships.
What do I need to do to serve at a community service event?
Each event is unique, responsibilities for each event will be highlighted and explained prior to the date. You are able to sign-up to any community service events you are comfortable with.
What does this nonprofit organization do?
Non-profit organizations meet one or more needs in a community, for CSF we support our community/campus with events like our Toys for Tots Drive, Food Drive, Peer Tutoring, and additional events that our membership chooses to support. We do not earn funds for our organization´s self interest, rather to support others in need.
