LQHS Career Center Info

The LQHS Career Center is located in the Counseling Office. We offer access to career interest inventories and other assessments through the California Colleges Guidance Initiative (CCGI); assistance filling out college, scholarship and FAFSA applications; assistance in creating resumes and filling out job applications; meetings with college reps; college brochures; meetings with military recruiters; and more. The Career Center is open from 7:30 a.m.to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Students may visit the Career Center before school, at lunch, or after school. Students may also visit during class time with a pass from their teacher.

College of the Desert -- EDGE/plEDGE application is now open! You need to have applied to have completed your COD application and received your Student ID Number. Click Here to to the EDGE/plEDGE application.

College Applications--Please check the college websites of the colleges and universities where you are planning to apply. Application deadlines vary. Find out the application process: which application they use; do they require an essay; do they require SAT and/or ACT; do they require SAT subject tests; do they want recommendation letters; if they use the Common App, do they have a supplemental application? Get a copy of your unofficial transcript. Get organized.

Financial Aid--FAFSA/California Dream Act application opens October 1. There's no reason to wait until the March 2 deadline to apply. The Counseling Office will begin their FAFSA/CADAA Tuesdays in October. During "Office Hours," if students need assistance with their FAFSA or California Dream Act application, contact the Counseling Office for assistance

College Presentations

Please check in regularly for any newly scheduled presentations. We are gearing up for our yearly college rep visits. Remember...this is your opportunity to ask admissions representatives any questions you may have. Plus, the reps are very often the people who will be reading your college applications.
