Change in transportation? Contact the elementary office and they will deliver a note to me about the change. I may not see your email until after dismissal, and phone calls to the classroom are distracting, so contacting the office is the best route, and our general procedure.
Can I have lunch with my child? Yes! Meet us in the lunch room at 11:20. You may purchase a lunch or bring your own.
What about snack? Send a small peanut and tree-nut free snack with your child daily. We have a peanut and tree-nut allergy in our classroom.
Are water bottles allowed? Yes, mark your child's name on their water bottle, Please send only water, no flavored drinks.
When does school start and end? Students enter the building at 8:00 and are walked out to the buses at 2:52.
Do you celebrate birthdays? We will have a mini birthday celebration towards the end of the day. Please be considerate of our peanut and tree-nut allergy, along with red food coloring sensitivity. Remember, treats are optional. We will always recognize your child's birthday. Should your child's birthday be during the summer months, look for a calendar to come out in April to sign up for a day that you would like. We have 22 students in our classroom.
Sharing? We alternate each week girls/boys. Refrain from sending fragile or highly sentimental objects. Sharing items will stay in the classroom and do not go outside at recess time. There will be more information in the Mid-September news.
Can my child wear jewelry to school? Yes, but if it becomes a distraction they will put it in their bookbag.
What about smartphones and smartwatches? These are prohibited (see Student/Parent Handbook). Should they arrive at school they will have to stay in their bookbags.
Class information? Look for a monthly news letter the first of the month. It will be in their take-home folders.
