Welcome to 12th Grade English! As you step into your final year of high school, this course is designed to sharpen your critical thinking, deepen your appreciation for powerful storytelling, and equip you with practical communication skills for whatever comes next.
What We’ll Cover This Year
British Literature Foundations: We begin our journey by exploring classic works of British literature, starting with early masterpieces like Beowulf and the timeless plays and sonnets of William Shakespeare.
Expanded Voices: Moving through the literary canon, we will examine more modern figures, including contemporary perspectives and authors like Rudyard Kipling and Robert Louis Stevenson, analyzing how themes of identity, society, and human nature evolved over time.
Real-World Application: In the third quarter of the year, our focus shifts toward practical, real-world reading and writing. You will engage with non-fiction analysis, professional communication, and creative synthesis designed directly to prepare you for work, trade pathways, and life beyond graduation.
I am thrilled to work alongside you this year as you refine your voice and prepare for your next big step. Let’s make your senior year exceptional!
