The first ping pong tournament has concluded, and there’s a lot to go over. Wimbledon, as some may call it, was the first of the 3 ping pong tournaments happening over the next few weeks. While the Chalice of Ping is indeed prestigious, the house points may mean more. After the first tournament, there is definitely a front pack that has separated themselves from the rest. Over the next two Thursdays, it’s important to ask: Who will win it all?
Making up the final four was definitely the greatest bunch; the Shipalia brothers from Mazzinghi, Ethan Riordan of Kalinowski, and Calvin Brey (myself) from Pereira. While Ethan swept down the younger Ship brother in the semis, Calvin swept the older one as well, giving them 3rd and 4th for Mazzinghi. In the finals, Ethan finally met his end, losing to Calvin 21-8 and 21-18. After Pereira most likely winning the first week, the other houses will have to will their best players to compete and win for points. Until then, make sure to go to Mr. P’s room (220) to sign up for next week.
