As time goes on, one may wonder, when will the best be separated from the rest? Looks like that just happened. This week features new insights and developments that show just how much the top of the league is distinguishing itself from the average performers. How is Pereira still clinging on to first? How on Earth is there a 3 way tie? Let’s break it down.
Starting off the top 10 is Evan Sears of Abbati and myself from Pereira with 405 points. How did I go from 1st to 10th in 2 weeks? Don’t ask me about it. Evan and I are both 43-20 at the moment. In 9th place is Coach Reilly from Pereira, going 48-15 with 408 points. Reilly now has the best record in the school, if only his confidence could back that up. In 8th place with 411 points is Lucas Olivario from Kalinowki, with 411 points and a 44-18 record. Just edging him out with 412 points and a 47-16 record is Max Olivario of Abbati. These guys know what they’re doing.
The 6th place position is occupied solely by Landon McKune of Thomas. Landon is 46-17 and has 413 points. After a few weeks holding a spot in the top 5, who can blame him for slipping a little; hopefully he’ll be back at it next week. After some time in the lower half of the top 10, Pereira contender Michael Kurtsinger has jumped to 5th place. Kurtsinger has 418 points and is 47-16. In 4th place is Brennan Martin from Spagnoli. Although he’s one point off from the top, he still has 419 points and is 46-17.
And man, this is one heck of a tie going on in 1st place. We have top dog Mr. Keadle from Pereira in 1st place for the 3rd time in 4 weeks, as well as the father and son duo of Coach Hammond and Trent Hammond (the latter from Rabata). Just as I predicted, these 2 have made their way to the top. Their point total: 420 points. They are on top of the Pick’ems world, and no one can bring them down. Mr. Keadle is 45-18, Trent is 47-16, and Coach Hammond is 44-19. I look forward to seeing where these boys will be next week.
Now, there isn’t a Pick’ems article without a heavy feature from the Worst Performer. For the 3rd week in a row, with a record of 30-33 and 229 points, your Worst Performer of week 4 is none other than: Will Yurt. Congrats champ.
Checking up on our houses, Rabata and Pereira are now tied, but Pereira has Kurtsinger to back them up. Spagnoli and Thomas are still holding on to individual people in the top 4 as well. Good luck to all those performing this week, and get those picks in, because this train brakes for no one.
