This week’s addition features one aspect we haven’t seen yet: The crushing upset. Someway or somehow, the Green Bay Packers, widely considered one of the best teams in the league, lost to the Browns. Because of this, 98% of people lost big point totals, making this the first down week in points. Aside from that, the top bunch is still pretty much the same. Will Pereira come in first for the fourth week in a row? Where did Mr. Hammond come from? Let’s break it down.
For the top 10, Max Olivario of Abbati comes in 10th for the second week in a row. Max is 37-11 with 323 points so far. Talk about consistency. In 9th place, going 37-11 as well and scoring 325 points, is Michael Kurtsinger of Pereira. Coming in a clean 8th is Evan Sears of Abbati. Evan, following a fantastic week 2, is 34-14 with 327 points. After a solid week 1 and 2, Gabe Cripps from Kalinowski is 34-14 with 328 points, just edging out Kurtsinger. Rounding out this group is the former #1 from Thomas, Landon McKune. McKune is 36-12 with 331 points. Although he was in a good spot last week, his fortunes seemed to have taken a turn for the worse.
Now with the top 5, we have a 3-way tie for 3rd place. All with 332 points, we have Louis Lindgren of Rabata, Coach Hammond, and myself from Pereira. I went 36-12, unfortunately not as good as last week, Lindgren went 37-11, and Hammond went 34-14. Coming in 2nd is Trent Hammond, also of Rabata. Trent has a sizzling top-10 best record of 38-10. He has 333 points and dropped 100 points this week.
One of the most intriguing developments of the last week was the quick rise of Coach Hammond and his son Trent Hammond. Trent has been skirting the top of the leaderboard for a couple of weeks and finally broke through, rising to 2nd in the leaderboard, while his dad Coach Hammond has come out of nowhere with 110 points to grace the top 3. What kind of oracle is being spoken in their house? I don’t know, but this connection is going to be something to pay attention to in the next few weeks.
In first place this week we have a similar sight. After coming in a woeful 3rd last week, Mr. Keadle has once again made the jump to 1st place. Keadle has a relatively large 3 point lead on the competition with a whopping 336 points so far. He is also 35-13, which is not at all a best record, but it proves to show that confidence is key when it comes to making your picks. I think it’s safe to say that Mr. Keadle knows ball again, and that he is on fire.
I think we all know what’s coming now, it’s Worst Performer time. This one may be someone you guys have already seen; with a point total of 181 and a despicable record of 23-25, your 2-time winner of Worst Performer is Will Yurt. Congrats champ.
Finally, let’s once again check in on how our houses are doing. The story of this week can mostly be summed up by the intense competition between Pereira and Rabata. Pereira still holds the edge with 1st and 3rd, but Rabata has been prone for a breakthrough at any moment with participants in 2nd and 3rd. Aside from that, Thomas is the only other house with someone in the points. By the way, what happened to Abbati? That’s all for this week, catch you in the next one.
