After a solid start to the year, this week’s addition features unseen parody throughout NFL Pick’ems as a whole. The top bunch is packed together, and many others could join them with a good week. Will Abbati make an early-season statement? Will Pereira maintain its dwindling lead? Let’s get into it.
Just like last week, let’s review the top 10. Sitting alone in 10th place is Max Olivario of Abbati, going 26-6 so far and totaling 227 points. In 9th place with 231 is another Abbati member, Alex “Big Bo” Bowman, who is a sizzling 26-6. In a two way tie for 7th is Trent Hammond of Rabata and Will Montfort of Mazzinghi. They are both 25-7, but they have 233 points each, proving that confidence matters for picks. Coming in 6th place is Evan Sears of Abbati, going 24-8 and totaling 235 points. It’s also important to note that Sears requested me to say that he had the second highest score of the week, improving from 112 points in week one to 123 points in week two.
Now for the top 5, in a 3 way tie for 3rd is Gabe Cripps of Kalinowski, Louis Lindgren of Rabata, and Mr. Keadle? This doesn’t make sense, he had the lead in both leagues, what went wrong? Does Mr. Keadle not know ball anymore? Were the lights too bright? You can hear the crowd screaming, “Keadle is fading, Keadle is fading fast!” The entire school seems to be asking the same question: Where is Mr. Keadle, and when will he come back?
Anyways, as I was saying, Gabe, Louis, and surprisingly Mr. Keadle are all tied for 3rd place with 237 points. However, they all have different records to show. Cripps is 25-7, Lindgren is 26-6, and Keadle is 23-9. At the end of the day though, there’s only room for one at the top, or in this case, two. Tied for 1st after week two is Landon McGoon from Thomas, and of course, myself from Pereira. What can I say, I know ball. Landon and I both went 25-7 and dropped 239.
Now, after discussing our top performers, we head to the worst of the bunch. For every week, I’m going to mention our worst player as well. For this, I will take the person with the lowest point total who has still made picks on all of the games. The week two winner of the worst performer, going an abysmal 13-19 so far and scoring just 96 points, is none other than: Will Yurt. Congrats champ.
Finally, let’s check in on our houses. Pereira still holds strong with players in 1st and 2nd, but the Rabata duo is closing in. Kalinowski and Thomas also have stand-alone performers in the top four. Watch out though, Abbati is in a good position to make a move. That’s all for this week, see you for the next one.
