Currently 5-5-3, the varsity soccer team has had many notable ups and downs throughout their season. After a tough loss to Butler on the 17th, these next few games could shape the rest of their season. They play a winnable game at Central Hardin on the 19th, but 2 of the biggest games are both going to be played on Saturday.
The first game is at Elizabethtown. Desales faces the 2-8 Panthers at 10:00 Saturday morning in what should be a win for the team, but never make that a guarantee. It all comes down to Desales playing well and holding strong on defense. However, that’s not the only game that day, Desales will then head back home to play PRP at 8:00 at night. The second team with a Panthers mascot Desales will play is definitely going to be a tougher task at hand than E-Town. Pleasure Ridge is 4-2-4 and definitely has some good wins to show with it. However, Desales stands a good chance if they stay consistent and don’t lose much energy from their first game.
So, in review, Desales has a lot resting on how well they can perform this Saturday. They have to have the composure to not overlook Elizabeth town and keep their legs under them to beat PRP. With two wins here, Desales’ resume will look more competitive down the line and they’ll be back on track to go for another run at the state title.
