Last night the Fern Creek Tigers came to play DeSales. The contest ended in a tie, 1-1. The game started strong for the Colts, they were dominant the first half and went ahead 1-0 at the 20 minute mark. The. Lots were looking very strong, especially having their senior goalie, Cooper Pryor, out with a red card. To fill in his role freshman Jordan Glass stepped up to the pitch. Glass had a strong showing, allowing 1 goal with 7 minutes left in the 1st half. It is a good opportunity for the young goalkeeper to get this experience as you could tell there is potential, but much to learn for Glass. Cooper is out for one more game giving Glass another opportunity. I would like to see him fill more of a leadership role and be more vocal while on the pitch. The second half started with a DeSales kickoff. This half was filled with a back and forth and turned extremely physical. The referee allowed the physical play, but it got out of hand when a Fern Creek winger got into an altercation with the Colts, leading to a yellow card being shown to him. The physicality continued throughout the half, with no goals being slotted. Towards the end of the game the Tigers made a run. Star defender, TJ Heil, went down in the defensive box. Unfortunately he had to come out of the game, but he is healthy and will be ready to play this upcoming Tuesday against South Oldham at home.Â
