The DeSales Colts finally grabbed their first win of the season, taking down Holy Cross 28-20. It didn’t come easy, though. After going down 12-0 early, the Colts came alive with 28 straight points to flip the game around.
In the first quarter, Holy Cross struck first with a 17-yard rushing touchdown, going up 6-0 after a missed PAT. They added to it in the second with a 17-yard passing touchdown to make it 12-0. DeSales finally answered right before halftime when QB Cameron Bischoff found John Bowling on a 6-yard touchdown pass. Drew Dietz drilled the PAT, cutting it to 12-7 at the break.
The momentum carried into the second half. Early in the third quarter, Bischoff threw a touchdown to Dorian Brice, giving DeSales its first lead at 14-12.
In the fourth, Bischoff kept it himself on a 2-yard run to push the lead to 21-12. Not long after, he threw a perfect ball to Silas Jones to make it 28-12. Holy Cross got a late touchdown, but it wasn’t enough.
DeSales finished it off with a 28-20 win, showing fight and toughness by overcoming that early 12-point defecit
