This past week on a prime time Thanksgiving game, the Green Bay Packers beat the Detroit Lions in a major NFC North Showdown. This game held big value in the playoff race. Before the game, the Packers were leading the Lions in the NFC North. Both teams had 7 wins going into the game, but the Packers ended on a tie against the Cowboys early on in the season. This tie gave the Packers a half a game lead going into the game.
The game was very close with the Green Bay Packers taking the win 31-24. It started with the Packers putting the first points on the board with a 45 yard field goal. The Packers defense held strong to prevent the Lions from scoring any points. The following drive the Packers scored a touchdown making the score 10-0. After this, the game went very back with every touchdown getting answered. Going into the 4th quarter, the Packers were leading 31-21. The fourth quarter was heavily dominated by the defense only allowing the Lions to score 3 points. In the end, the Packers beat the Lions 31-24.
With this tough loss, the Lions have a tough road to the playoffs. 4 out of the next 5 games all are divisional games against difficult teams. The Lions play the Cowboys, Rams, and Bears for a chance to make the playoffs.
