Week one of the NFL season is finally here and there is a lot to go over! It's been a long wait and there have been a lot of changes, many teams have upped their rosters this offseason, and are ready for the season ahead. We will be covering each game and the favorites/score predictions. This long awaited week is finally on the horizon, so let's dive deep into the NFL world.
There are many exciting matchups throughout this week, and the first game is on Wednesday September 9, 2026, Seahawks are faced up against the Patriots in a rematch of last season's superbowl. There have been big roster changes to these teams, AJ Brown was traded from the Eagles and joined Drake Maye on this New England offensive, while for the Seahawks, Boye Mafe has joined the Bengals. At the end of the day, I predict the Seahawks win their first game of the season 27-17. The following day, on Thursday September, 10 2026, the San Francisco 49ers hosted the Los Angeles Rams. The LA Rams have had a monumental offseason, trading for defensive player of the year, Myles Garret, and former Chiefs CB Trent Mcduffie, and Arron Donald came out of retirement. This defense was already top tier, now they are debatably the best defense in the league. Their offense is still elite from last season, and with an injured 49ers roster, I don't see San Francisco having much of a chance. The Rams win this game 37-10. Then, The first 1pm game on Sunday September 13, 2026, the holy day of football, the Cincinnati Bengals host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home. Cincinnati has had an impressive offseason, they've been working on one of their biggest weak spots, their defense. Cincinnati picked Dexter Lawrence, Boye Mafe and Bryan Cook. On the other hand, Tampa Bay lost WR Mike Evans. I foretell the Bengals will defeat the Buccaneers in their opener 34-24. At the same time, at 1pm, the Detroit Lions host the New Orleans Saints. I predict Jahmyr Gibbs and Amon Ra St. Brown had a very productive week, and will take down this Saints team 31-16. Next up, the Jets go against the Titans. This game will not be very high scoring or entertaining. I think Cam Ward and this Tennessee offense take advantage of thisJets defense and take them down 17-9. Then, Baltimore travels to Indianapolis to face off against the Colts. Derrick Henry and Johnathan Taylor will both perform very well in this game, but who will come out with the week 1 win? I foretell the Ravens beat the Colts 34-27. Next up, the Atlanta Falcons are in Pittsburgh against the Steelers. This should be an exciting game, against two decent teams. I predict Bijan Robinson and the Falcons win over the Steelers 27-17. The Chicago Bears go head to head with the Carolina Panthers next. This Bears offense is up and rising, even after losing WR DJ Moore, they will still be on their game. I predict the Bears take down the Panthers 34-18. Nextly, Jacksonville hosts the Cleveland Browns in Florida. The Jaguars will defeat this Browns team, 27-10. Simultaneously the Buffalo Bills travel to Houston for what should be a very entertaining and energetic game. This Houston defense is looking really strong, but will their offense perform? The Bills offense and Josh Allen will rack up as many points as they can, and I think they will take down the Texans 34-24. This concludes the 1pm games on Sunday September 13 2026.
Now the 4:25pm games start up, and there's a lot to cover. The Las Vegas Raiders host the Miami Dolphins at home, for a not so high scoring game. Both of these teams are struggling with their roster, and each team has a few stand out players, as in Devon Achane and Maxx Crosby and his teammate Ashton Jeanty. The Raiders will win this week 1 game at home 24-10. Then, in a divisional matchup, the Green Bay Packers head to Minnesota Vikings home stadium for a hyped up match. I think Kyler Murray will win his first game on this new Vikings team 31-17. Similarly, the Washington Commanders head to Philadelphia to face the Eagles. The Eagles will have a win in the week 1 matchup against this Commanders squad 41-13, due to their overall more skilled roster. Then if we head over to Los Angeles, the Chargers host the Arizona Cardinals. With the Cardinals trading Kyler Murray to the Vikings, it will not be easy for them to find their rhythm. I predict the Chargers to defeat the Cardinals 24-7. Later on in the day, at 8:20, the Dallas Cowboys travel to New York to play the Giants. For most of last season, the Giants were not as healthy as they had hoped to be, with key players such as Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo being injured. But, with a healthy roster, I expect an entertaining match between these two strong teams. Although, I think the Cowboys offense will get straight to work in week 1 and win over the Giants 34- 27. Now for the last matchup of week 1 of the NFL season, the Kansas City Chiefs host the Denver Broncos in which will be a match to look forward to. Similarly to the Giants, the Chiefs roster was not in top tier shape last season, dealing with injuries and even legal reasons regarding Rashee Rice. On the other hand, this Broncos team has only gotten better, by gaining more experience in their young quarterback Bo Nix, and supplying him with support by trading for Jaylen Waddle. This match will be a fun one to watch, but at the end of the day, one team is victorious. I have the Broncos taking down the Chiefs at their home field 30-17.
After a long wait, the NFL season is finally here, bringing plenty of exciting matchups for fans to enjoy. Week 1 will set the tone for an entertaining season and get everyone back into the football spirit. With that said, those are my predictions for this week's winners and final scores.
