The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the most successful teams in the National Football League. They were founded in 1933 by Art Rooney in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At first, the team was called the Pirates, but the name was later changed to the Steelers to honor the city’s steel industry.
