This writing will include why the University of Louisville will be able to go far in the NCAA tournament. Louisville hasn’t got the full schedule as of right now but has around 6 games. Playing the rivalry Kentucky Wildcats on the 11th of November. That being before the football game this year might cause some intense heat between the two.
Louisville this year opened the season up with Kansas as an exhibition game. Louisville hasn’t been the best in the past couple seasons however Pat Kelsey has come into the program and changed the program around and got it back on track. What got the cards on a downhill path was the hiring of Kenny Payne coaching from 2022-2024, a former Louisville player in the year 1985-1989 under the coaching of the legendary Denny Crum. Kenny Payne's record while coaching for the cards held maybe one of the worst records, actually the program's worst record 12-52 and 5-35 in the regular season. As we can see this got the cards to where people didn’t even wanna watch them at all.
However after that season the best decision was made Kenny Payne was fired and dismissed and the hiring of Pat Kelsey came around. This man is shorter than a door handle but brings the fire and fierceness anywhere he goes. Pat Kelsey comes in as a head coach from Charlestown and takes the cards to the ACC championship and having the record of 27-8 winning the most games as a first year head coach at Louisville. Also having a record of 18-2 in the acc conference. A pretty impressive record for the cards and a great start to the “ Re-Vival”. Some key parts with the team this year is a 5 star recruit Mikel Brown Jr. out of Wichita state. Averaging 15 points a game 6.1 assists and 2.1 rebounds. This will be a major help to the cards since the cards star point guard Chucky Hepburn is gone. Another key accept is J’vonne Hadley, a returning guard for the Cards averaging 12.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.8 assist a game. These two key factors will for sure be a step up for the Cards and might as well call them the Dynamic Duo.
