Collin Chandler looking for Breakout Season
Collin Chandler looking for Breakout Season
A video was just posted of collin chandler in practice and it looked very promising. There have been obvious signs of improvement and might finally be coming out of his shell. Last year averaging only 2.7 points per game, he would often make many mistakes and would not stay in the game for very long. However, towards the end of the season he started to pick things up and he looked like he was starting to gain some of his confidence back. And now it seems he has carried that motivation into the summer to get even better.
You can't be too hard on him as he didn't play basketball for 2 entire years while he was on his Mormon mission. So it makes sense that it took him a while to get in rhythm. But muscle memory is real and everything is starting to come back together. In these clips he was making very difficult passes, hitting tough shots, and even caught himself a very mean dunk over top of jelavic. He was moving different. A lot of our players last year struggled taking care of the ball, so if he can step up this year he will have a very big role in this team.
With him improving, and Otegah Oweh returning for another year, we will have a team with experience AND chemistry which Kentucky basketball has not seen in quite some time. This duo is going to run the SEC and this will take pressure off of Oweh as he had to carry most games last season due to injuries. Be looking forward to a great season from Chandler and Kentucky.
