These are my top players in the country at every position which forms a starting lineup.
We’re in the middle of college volleyball season and there have been so many impressive players this year. I created a starting lineup using all the best players from different schools.
Outside hitter, Torrey Stafford (Texas)
This was the biggest no brainer for me. She’s hitting an efficiency of .342 this season which is unbelievable for someone who hits so many out of system balls. She’s also a very efficient passer and she plays great defense as well.
Outside hitter, Harper Murray (Nebraska)
I chose Harper Murray because she is one of the best all around players in the country. A lot of people might be shocked to not see either of Kentucky’s outsides on this list because they’ve been so dominant in attacking, but Murray has been consistently one of the best in every phase of the game this year.
Setter, Nayelis Cabello (Louisville)
Louisville has started running a 5-1 offense with Nayelis Cabello running the entire offense and doing it beautifully. No one was really sure what Louisville was going to do this season because they lost almost all of their starters last year, but thanks to Cabello’s leadership, they’re still in the top 5 this season.
Middle blocker , Andi Jackson (Nebraska)
This one doesn’t mean very much explanation. She would probably be on everyone’s list as everyone’s number one middle blocker pick. She can jump out of the gym, she’s a good blocker and has insane power behind her attacks. She also hits for an incredible efficiency.
Middle blocker, Cara Cresse (Louisville)
Cara Cresse is a veteran for Louisville this year and is carrying a much bigger load of their offense than she ever has. She has a massive block and it’s incredible at reading attackers moves. I also highly considered Bre Kelley for this spot, but Cresse has been slightly better offensively.
Right side hitter, Kennedy Martin (Penn State)
I know a lot of people are probably shocked that I wouldn’t pick the reigning national player of the year, but Kennedy Martin has actually been better in most statistics this year. She’s hitting for a higher efficiency than Olivia Babcock. She had a career high 34 kills in their four set match against UCLA a few weeks ago, and she’s also the national player of the week this week.
Libero, Emma Halter (Texas)
Emma Halter has been one of the most underrated liberos in the country for years, but now in her senior year, she is finally getting the attention she deserves. She is unbelievable in serve receive, extremely quick in defense, and a great out of system setter as well.
