The winter transfer portal for the college volleyball season has officially closed. As usual, there were a lot of surprising names. So let’s look back at some of the biggest names that you’ll be seeing in a different jersey in the 2026 season.

     Let’s start with the 2 teams that performed best in the portal this winter. Penn State picked up 5th year setter Alexis Stucky from Florida, middle blocker Ryla Jones from Pitt, and outside hitter Whitney Lauenstien from Texas. Creighton did great in the portal as well, picking up Kansas setter Katie Dalton, Texas middle blocker Ayden Ames, and Wisconsin outside hitter Trinity Shadd-Ceres. Florida middle blocker Jaela Auguste will be transferring to Wisconsin after Wisconsin loses 2 incredible middle blockers this past season. BYU outside Sufi Davis and Kentucky setter Ava Sarafa will both be transferring to SMU this season after SMU loses a setter and an outside. Natalie Ring from Marquette will be transferring to Texas A and M for her last year of eligibility as the reigning national champs still have a lot of work to do after losing almost all of their starting lineup to graduation. Izzy Starck has also announced that she will be returning to college volleyball this season as a Pittsburgh panther. Finally, after losing all American Eva Hudson, Kentucky picks up outside hitter Morgan Gaerte from Notre Dame in the portal. There’s several more players transferring, but these were the top names in the transfer portal this winter.
