Stand Up by Mikaela Peter (Mrs. Cruz's Fifth Grade)

It is important to stand up for people who are treated unfairly.  Dr. King had the "I Have a Dream Speech" to stand up for African Americans who were treated unfairly.  It is important to stand up for people who are treated unfairly because the world can become a better place.  When people are treated unfairly, they can protest for their rights.  That is why it is important for people to stand up for people who are treated unfairly.

Dr. King had the "I Have a Dream Speech" to stand up for African Americans who were treated unfairly.  A quote from his speech was "I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood."  As well as "I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."  Also, his speech was to have equal rights for black and white people.

The world can become a better place if people were not treated unfairly.  Everyone will be at peace and no fights.  No one will have to do anything they don't want to do.  If people were treated unfairly, they could start nonviolent protests. 

When people are treated unfairly, they may start to protest for their rights.  People will start boycotts and marches for rights.  Dr. King would agree with me because he started a boycott because people were being treated unfairly.  Some protests may be nonviolent as well.

As you can see, it is important to stand up for people who are treated unfairly.  Dr. King had the "I Have a Dream Speech" to stand up for people who were treated unfairly.  The world can become a better place.  Finally, people will protest for their rights.  That is why it is important to treat people fairly.
