Villa Verde Elementary School was established in 1972. The first building was a three classroom- prefab to a less than a hundred pupils using the multi-grade program under Mrs. Emelita Avila as Officer-In-Charge of the school. The school then was an annex of Kaligayahan Elementary School.

Mrs. Evelina Tamang followed as first principal of the school. As the year passed by, enrolment increased, which led to the construction of new buildings, the Fil-Chinese building and RP-US Building. Mrs. Lewelyn Samson took over Mrs. Tamang who was then promoted to another school. In 1983, another building was constructed, the Bagong Lipunan Building followed by the Home Economics building. But, being a PRODED trainer, she was asked by the Region to concentrate in the program. Mrs. Erlinda Aquino took over her position and was soon replaced by Dr. Alicia O. Reyes, as she had her first assignment in the school.

Despite of the negative response from the members of the homeowners in the construction of a 4-storey building, it was pushed through with the approval from then President of the homeowners Association, the father of Henry Omaga Diaz who had a heart for poor children and aimed to give them an opportunity to quality education, and with the supervision of Mrs. Rosalia Galinato. The building was called the Mathay building, a building with 9 classrooms and was then the only 4-storey building in the school.

The next principals assigned in the school made a long-range plan for the improvement of the school like Mr. Jesus Sagun who stayed in the school for more than four years, Mrs. Rosita Santiago, Mrs. Virginia Calosing and Mr. Alarico Ramos who inspired the teachers to continue their studies and professional growth.

When Mr. Gerry F. Isip took over as the new principal, he initiated the Agro-Industrial Projects like poultry, duck and turkey raising. He also worked on the heightening of the perimeter fence from 3 ft. to 6 ft. Academically he made VVES ranked 1st in the 2004 Division Achievement Test.

Afterwards, Mrs. Aurora L. Caberos got her assignment as principal of Villa Verde Elementary School and led in the improvement of its physical aspects like mural paintings in buildings and walls of the perimeter fence. She initiated the improvement of the Kindergarten room. She pioneered in the greening and beautification of the school by putting lot of plants around.

Mr. Arsenio I. Honrejas, Jr. short stint of stay in the school and Mrs. Cristina O. Garvida, newly assigned principal of the school joined efforts to write request letters and followed – up requests for the demolition of the termite infested Fil-Chinese Building, repair and repainting of the RP-US Building Fil-Chinese Administration Building and the Mathay Building as well as the completion of the unfinished Cong. Susano project.

Miss Eleanor P. Interia became Officer In-Charge of the school when Mrs. Garvida took a six-month leave and was soon after promoted as principal of Delfin M. Geraldez Elementary School.

Through the kindness and concern of the Mayor and the Superintendent, all requests were approved with action. The unfinished Susano Building became the mini-SB building and the Mathay building was repainted. The termite infested building was demolished and made the school ground spacious.

The principals who also contributed efforts and dedications for the benefits of the clientele of Villa Verde Elementary School were; Mrs. Emelita Avila, Mrs. Evelina Tamang, Mrs. Lewelyn Samson (migrated to the United States); Mrs. Erlinda Aquino, Dr. Alicia O. Reyes, Mrs. Rosalia Galinato, Mr. Jesus Sagun, Mr. Elpidio Leones, Mrs. Rosita Santiago, Mrs. Virginia Calosing, Mr. Alarico Ramos, Mr. Gerry F. Isip, Mrs. Aurora L. Caberos, Mr. Arsenio I. Honrejas, Jr., Ms. Eleanor P. Interia and Mrs. Cristina O. Garvida. Mrs. Cristina O. Garvida was then assigned as HEKASI Coordinator after she resumed office from a month leave and in September 8, 2009, Mrs. Vernalisa I. Libanan took over as the new head of the school.

The new principal initiated the improvement and beautification of the school through landscaping and putting murals. She had put up a new flagpole with concrete base. The school library was improved, and she generated donations of 1.5 million worth of books by the AHON Foundation. She also revived the Drum and Lyre and Rondalla.

Mr. Luisito O. Cleto assumed his office as the new principal on June 2, 2011. He focused on the holistic development of the school, from academic to the physical aspects and establishing harmonious relationship with the community. He started the Urban Farming which continuously prosper and gained support from LGU’s. Two school buildings were fenced and two additional comfort rooms were constructed.

Then, in October 6, 2015, Mrs. Aireen G. Dulfo, Principal III, took her post as the principal. Another 4 story building, with 16 classrooms, was built despite the refusal by most of the member of the Homeowners Association and the building was named as “Vargas Building”. The next principals assigned in the school made a short-range plan for the improvement of the school like Mrs. Rosario Sicam who stayed in the school for only 6 months, Mrs. Corazon Zinampan and Mr. George Melegrito.

Currently, the school is under the leadership of Miss Linaflor E. Cabildo, Principal III, who took office last July 10, 2018. She envisioned to strengthen relationships among internal stakeholders and external stakeholders for the betterment of the school which will create a significant impact on the education of the pupils. She envisioned to make Villa Verde Elementary School a functional 21st Century School and to provide pupils a child-friendly learning environment. She also put emphasis on the importance of providing a quality and free education for learners and that literacy and numeracy is always a priority. In her 3-year implementation of SIP 2019-2021, the non-negotiable goal of education is achieved. She brought the school to its peak performances; maintained Zero Drop-out Rate, Zero Repetition Rate, Zero Leaver Rate and 100% Promotion Rate for 3 consecutive years. The school received Highest Recognitions and Outstanding School Performance; Best Brigada Eskwela Implementer (BE2019, BE2020, BE2021), Level 3 SBM Level of Practice (SY 2018-2021), 3 Star Level for WASH in School (SY 2019-2020), Best School Reading Remediation Implementer (SY 2020-2021) and a nominee for Secretariat Award in Best Implementor for Curriculum and Instruction SY 2020-2021.

With this, the school aims to continue in providing services and access to quality education despite any circumstances; to serve our client, the LEARNERS, thru Collaboration, Assertiveness, Resourcefulness towards Excellence with Sympathy and a HEART.
