Ramon Magsaysay Elementary School was formerly known as La Loma Elementary School. It was built in 1940 with a 4 room building. It had three annexes at Ipo, Halcon and Calavite Streets where primary grades held classes while the intermediate grades held classes at the main campus along Apo Street. When the WW II broke out the school was forced to stop its operation because the building was used as barracks of the US forces in 1944, during the American occupation of Manila. The school opened in 1945 with a teaching force of 8 teachers.
