The Kindergarten Program is aligned to the program being implemented in DepEd Kindergarten Curriculum that aims to make learning fun, fair and inclusive to all learners. This program provides play-based, context-specific, and developmentally appropriate activities which are relatable to children’s background and experiences.
The Kindergarten Program upholds activities which help them acquire the four pillars of learning, namely: learning to know, learning to do, learning to live together, and learning to be. To be able to achieve this, the program sets these four major objectives:
- prepares children for a smooth transition period from informal to formal literacy;
- allows children to reap the many proven benefits of learning through play and inquiry;
- develops holistic learning for children; and
- builds strong foundation of school-parent relationship
